You were originally a geologist, what prompted your career change?
In my career as a geologist I gradually got more and more involved in the computer modelling and programming side of things and really enjoyed it. Eventually I got sick of working with rocks and with working underground so I did a graduate diploma in information technology and became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and here I am five years later.

What do you like most about being an analyst programmer?
I like the challenge of building systems and making code specific to a need. I enjoy keeping up with technology - being on the "cutting edge".

Is it true you like fishing and have recently graduated to offshore angling?
I do like fishing and yes I bought a boat not long ago - it's a 12 foot dinghy with a 30hp motor! It's called "Lil' Hooker" and I caught a Barramundi in it on its maiden voyage!
