Welcome

First of all let me start by wishing AECgroup a very Happy 10th Birthday. AECgroup celebrated their first decade on 31st May 2009. Congratulations! The last ten years has seen the AECgroup grow and grow as a result of the successful execution of our strategic plans. I am certain the pattern of continuous growth will repeat itself over the next decade. As Simon (CEO) mentioned 'this significant milestone is testimony to the hard work of the board and staff … and a big thanks must go to each and every one of our clients who have placed their trust in us'.

In the last issue, I mentioned that this year would be a tough one for the AECgroup as the 'doom and gloom' about the world economy dominates the headlines.

However, such negative forecasts day in, day out quickly become tiresome, so in this edition you will enjoy reading about some of our significant achievements over the last ten years. Some of the highlights include:
  • Stop, press! Exciting news at AEC as we have recently increased our presence with the opening of a brand new office in Perth, Western Australia. In addition, the AECgroup have purchased a prime site office in the heart of Sydney's CBD which will open at the end of July 2009. These openings will provide us with a platform for further growth in both Western Australia and New South Wales.
  • Gavin's article titled 'A decade of continuous change in Local Government' demonstrates how the AECgroup have grown and adapted to local government changes over the past ten years.
  • Finally Carey's article 'Are we there yet?' outlines that it is not all bad news!

So, sit back, relax and enjoy this special birthday edition. Happy Birthday once again and here’s to the next ten years!
