The AECgroup's Toowoomba Office was officially launched
along with the Report on the Darling Downs and South West
Queensland Regional Economy at the historic Gabbinbar
Homestead in Toowoomba on Thursday 1 March 2001. Attending
the launch were government, business and community identities
from throughout the region, many of whom commented favourably
on AEC's decision to establish a local office in Toowoomba.
Guest speakers at the launch included the Mayor of Toowoomba,
Cr Dianne Thorley, who officially launched the Report, Mr
Edward Sims, CEO of GrowZone Development Network, Mr Simon
Smith, General Manager of the AECgroup, and Mr Reuben Lawrence,
Manager of AECgroup Toowoomba.
Both Cr Thorley and Mr Sims gave glowing endorsements of
the AECgroup and welcomed the introduction of the company's
unique and professional business consulting services to the
area. Commenting on the Report, Cr Thorley said, "A report
of this depth should be a tool in all regional issues. It
is extremely hard to make decisions for our region if we do
not have an understanding of the areas of growth."
